1. How to proceed?

• Define the Objective: Define Study Objective, including school and program. You can collect information by yourself orconsult professional institution.
• Apply to School: Submit Application; Pay Application Fee; Follow Application Status and Receive Admission Package.
• Prepare for Departure：Visa Application; Book Accommodation on Campus or Hotel outside Campus; Remittance or Cash Preparation; Luggage Preparation; Confirm date for Coming to China; Book Air Ticket and Reserve Airport Pickup. 
• Enroll in School: Check-in, Registration and Living Arrangement

2. When to begin?

China’s universities recruit international students for two semesters, they are,

• Spring Semester-Starts in Feb or Mar
• Fall Semester-Starts in Sep or Oct

During application to China’s Universities, two important procedures cost time and cannot be easily controlled. They are,

• University Application: Including Submitting Application, Paying Application Fee, Waiting for Admission Decision and Admission Package. This stage costs one to two month or even longer.
• Visa Application: This depends on different countries. Students should consult local Chinese Embassy and prepare required documents. This stage costs one to two weeks or even longer.

Considering the various factors, CUCAS advises you to apply 2 months before the semester starts.

3. What to prepare?

Non-degree Students- For Chinese Language Study,

• Passport and its photocopy
• Electronic passport photo
• Graduation Certificate and Transcript of Highest Education(Official Pre-graduation Certificate and current acquired Transcript for pre-graduating students)

Degree Students- For Bachelor, Master or Doctor Study,

• Passport and its photocopy
• Electronic passport photo
• Graduation Certificate and Transcript of Highest Education(Official Pre-graduation Certificate and current acquired Transcript for pre-graduating students)
• Language Proficiency Certificate.(HSK required for Programs taught in Chinese; IELTS or TOEFL required for Programs taught in English)
• Health Certificate(Compulsory for Some Schools)
• Recommendation Letter(Compulsory for Some Schools)

All students should prepare,

• Study Abroad Fees, including application fee, tuition, accommodation fee and living cost(for all self-supporting students)
• Consult local Embassy about the Visa Policy (Normally, it’s easy for yourself to apply the visa if you prepare well, no need to spend high fees through agency)

1. How many application ways are there?

• Apply to the university directly (hereinafter referred to as “Apply Directly”)
• Apply through your local agency (hereinafter referred to as “Local Agency”)
• Apply Online through CUCAS and other agency in China

Note:

①Some agency can help students finish the application and get the admission package. But they will not deliver the admission package to students until they pay other fees or pay for other service

1. What factors should be taken into consideration for being accepted? And how to avoid being rejected?

• Self-qualification & School Selection: Considering your academic performance, language proficiency and economic strength, you are advised to choose the suitable school. For any questions, you can consult CUCAS Advisor.
• Application Time: It’s better to apply 1 to 2 months earlier than the class starting date. First, China’s universities admit students based on “First Come, First Served”. Since the number of recruitment is limited, there is great chance for you to get admitted if you apply early. Second, during the application processing, careless omission, limited time, or inappropriate processing may result to failed application.
• Visa Issue: For some countries, visa policy might change during a certain time. Students are advised to consult first and prepare beforehand. For any questions, you can consult CUCAS Advisor.
