Intern Time & Duration
- The clinical internship in Wuhan University is scheduled in the 11th and 12th semesters. As for the exact time of the internship, it usually starts in June and lasts for 48 weeks. What if your MBBS program is taught in Chinese, your clinical practice will be arranged in the 5th academic year. Because this program's duration is 5 years rather than 6 years.
Internship in China
- As a general rule, MBBS students should do clinical practice in China. Wuhan University will arrange a proper internship hospital for you. But you should pass the new HSK 4 in order to better communicate with patients and doctors.
Overseas Internship
- You can also choose to do the clinical internship in other countries such as in your home country. But there are several rules you should observe before you participate in the internship abroad:
- 1. First, you should complete all courses and obtain all credits for the first five years.
- 2. Second, you need to get an acceptance letter (with clear date and duration) from a qualified internship hospital in advance.
- 3. Third, you shall submit an application and a detailed plan for the overseas internship so as to obtain the approval to do the overseas internship.
- 4. Last but not least, don't forget to extend your Residence Permit and complete your registration ahead of time. 50% tuition fee and two years of insurance fee shall be paid upon the registration.
Comprehensive Theory Test
- No matter you take the internship in or outside China, after you finish your clinical practice, you shall return to Wuhan University before May to take the internship evaluation and graduation exam. This is very important because the exam will decide whether you can graduate from WHU and obtain the MBBS degree.
