HPCZ’s Accreditation of Medical Schools in China

The Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) is a statutory body established through an Act of Parliament. Candidates who want to practice medicine in Zambia have to take assessment examinations and apply for the registration as a health practitioner.
Requirements for Registration
For foreign trained medical students without qualifications recognized by the HPCZ, you are eligible to apply for the certificate of Temporary Registration first and provide following documents to HPCZ:
1. Certified Copies of relevant qualifications obtained outside Zambia
2. Copy of results of assessment examination recognized by HPCZ
3. Proof of internship
4. Certificate of Good standing verification of licensure from relevant professional body outside Zambia where the applicant last practiced
5. Proof of knowledge in English language from the British Council in Zambia
6. Copy of offer of employment from the government or from the licensed health facility
Approved Medical Schools
In terms of credential verification, there is no information about approved medical school outside Zambia stated on the official website of HPCZ.
So medical graduates with international degrees should take the assessment examinations just as their counterparts graduated from universities inside Zambia.
