HPCZ’s Accreditation of Medical Schools in China
- The Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) is a statutory body established through an Act of Parliament. Candidates who want to practice medicine in Zambia have to take assessment examinations and apply for the registration as a health practitioner.
Requirements for Registration
- For foreign trained medical students without qualifications recognized by the HPCZ, you are eligible to apply for the certificate of Temporary Registration first and provide following documents to HPCZ:
- 1. Certified Copies of relevant qualifications obtained outside Zambia
- 2. Copy of results of assessment examination recognized by HPCZ
- 3. Proof of internship
- 4. Certificate of Good standing verification of licensure from relevant professional body outside Zambia where the applicant last practiced
- 5. Proof of knowledge in English language from the British Council in Zambia
- 6. Copy of offer of employment from the government or from the licensed health facility
- In terms of credential verification, there is no information about approved medical school outside Zambia stated on the official website of HPCZ.
- So medical graduates with international degrees should take the assessment examinations just as their counterparts graduated from universities inside Zambia.
