The Beijing government has announced an extra six-day holiday during APEC for central and city government departments, as well as schools, if you have no idea what to do on the holiday during APEC, CUCAS team has some suggestions. As this holiday during APEC is special for people in Beijing, it won't be so crowded to go for a trip as the national day holiday, how about a learning journey to universities then?
Holiday During APEC Destination 1: Beijing Language and Culture University
Beijing Language and Culture University was founded in 1962, It is the only international university in China with its main task set at teaching the Chinese language and culture to foreign students. As an international University, BLCU’s vision for the past 40 years has been to “popularize Chinese language and promote Chinese culture.” Generations of faculties have worked tirelessly to turn BLCU into a renowned International Center for teaching Chinese as a foreign language and a top training base for personnel engaged in or concerned with foreign affairs. Holiday During Destination 2: Wuhan University
Wuhan University is a key university directly under the administration of the Education Ministry of the People's Republic of China. It is located in Hubei Province's capital Wuhan The university has rolling physical features with the scenic Luojia Hill in it and the beautiful East Lake by its side, seeming in picturesque disorder. The university now has 5,000-odd teachers, 4 academicians of Chinese Academy of sciences, 5 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 2 academicians of the international Eurasian Academy of Sciences. The university has also 22 disciplines offering "the Changjiang River program awarding scholars" for the posts of the special appointed professors. Wuhan University is working hard on building a number of disciplines with the first-rate levels in the world, before the middle twenty-first century Wuhan University will be built into a first-rate university of the world.
Holiday During Destination 3: Xiamen University
Xiamen University was founded in 1921 by Tan Kah Kee. It was the FIRST university in China founded by an overseas Chinese. At present, it is the only university in any of five special economic zones and is one of China 's higher-level universities designated for the state key construction of the “211 Project” and the “985 Project”. Xiamen University provides a fairly complete range of programs of education, and it has become a first-class comprehensive university in China with extensive international influence. Since its founding, Xiamen University has produced more than 150,000 undergraduates and graduates. Also Xiamen university has a high level team of faculty and staff.
